Four IFM students and lecturer in Brussels unhurt

The students are currently at their hostel and are following advice to stay indoors. The accompanying lecturer is at the university and unable to leave until further notice.
Lecturer at IFM, Hans van Oudheusden, provided this information. He is in hourly contact with the lecturer in Brussels, who keeps in contact with his students. Van Oudheusden, “The lecturer is unable to go to the students because he is located in a cordoned-off area. He is at the university, where a hospital is also located that is treating today’s injured.”
The lecturer and students were in Brussels for a business week. “I have heard that all Dutch students there are safe, but other students attending the business week have not yet been located.”
Earlier today, the emergency officer of the university of applied Sciences understood there were no students of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences in Brussels. This morning, Brussels was shocked by a series of bomb explosions at an airfield and an underground station, which resulted in deaths and injuries.
